Why Common Ground Voter?

We grew up with parents who always told us “you do the right thing”…and so, naively, that’s how we thought the world and everyone else operated. Suffice to say it was and has been a long, rude awakening, starting with the results of the first election we voted in almost four decades ago. Since then we believed that people would triumph over politics and that voters would stand for the issues and not the politics…but sadly our system doesn’t make it easy to vote for the cause but does make it easy to vote for the candidate and “the party line”.

This was the genesis of Common Ground Voter… a growing and focused attempt to gather folks from the middle the left and the right to merge on some key issues that serve us all, and to inform our representatives that we don’t vote blue or red, left or right… we vote for the COMMON good. We don’t vote for a party and we expect our representatives to do the same on legislation, regardless of the politics and inner-party perception or pressure to conform.

So, “who we are” is a growing body of voters willing to stray from our affiliation and to vote for the candidates who support all or the majority of our key Common Ground Voter issues...all of which enjoy significant majority support in the US populace.

We will be vocal, we will bring attention and we will bring support to candidates who support these Common Ground issues and we will deliver with our voices, our posts our media and our pocketbooks.
